The Dog Training Industry Association was formed as a result of a Meeting held by a number of leading Dog Trainers in the United Kingdom. This was held at Wetherby, Yorkshire on Thursday 24th August 1995. It was recommended by members present to hold a conference at least twice annually. George GRAYSON was elected as Chairman.

The stated object of the Association would be to ensure that the interests of private trainers, private dog training clubs and persons within the Dog Training Industry are realistically and democratically represented throughout the United Kingdom .

The formation of the Association would allow for an interchange of information and ideas by very experienced dog trainers who preferable were running a business within the Dog Training Industry of the United Kingdom . It would also provide a platform for their views to be expressed and their interests to be better represented.

The emphasis for members attending the conference will be experience, have a well run business, good recommendations, a successful track record and be fully insured against public liability claims. New applicants will be required to fill in an application form and attend the next meeting. Members will be required to attend at least one meeting per annum. The Association will represent the Private Dog Training Industry in the United Kingdom and will play a formidable part in swaying public opinion by the public, H.M. Government, The Kennel Club, Charitable Organisations etc.

The emphasis at the Conference is not what a member can get out of it, but what they can contribute by way of their experience to ensure there is a worthwhile interchange of information, training techniques and a full and practical discussion of any topical subject or event.
